Thanks Mary I hope to make it more interesting once I figure out how to do the profile and put a photo up.
Now for the homework:
I hope to gain more confidence in web 2.0 technologies by completing this course. I hope that when I sit down to my computer in future I won't have a knot of fear in my stomach and that I will be able to work along side my 11 year old daughter as she dives into this interactive online world.
Time demands will make me selective about which tools I see as useful and which are time wasters. So far I think blogs are interesting ways to communicate with a group of people. They offer more versatility than just plain old emails; with the opportunity to add photos etc and have an interactive conversation. Cairns office has established a IKC blog which I am going to join and Lyn has established a qatsils blog which I will also join. It will be interesting to see how actively people particpate in these blogs as I think participation is the key otherwise the blog is dead and not really a useful form of communication. So what I would need to establish before I set up a blog whether for myself or for work is that there is a need for communication and that the members of the blog group are interested in participating in Blog communication. By the way what does BLOG stand for ?? I have friends who belong to BLOG in Stanthorpe 'Border Landcare Organic Group'. This group were bloggers long before the online term appeared! that's all for now cheers Chris
